Find the best AR-15 scopes & optics for your budget and use. From 1x red dots to magnified scopes, plus recommended mounts, accessories, and backup sights. All tested in-hand by us. All in all there are about 8 or 10 major and minor variations of the 3/4' scopes which are correct for the A4. Some are quite rare. (the Frankford Arsenal M73B1's and OPL M73B2's) I don't know of any evidence that the so-called Weaver 'Silent' (330S) scopes were ever aquired for A4's.

He was breaking them on a SP1 carbine that was using an M261 in less than 100 rounds.they may be useful as a source for the mount or adjustment caps or perhaps a dummy/display/airsoft piece but I wouldn't bother with them for anything else. I pulled mine off of my A2 because it made the gun (which is already an HBAR) noticeably heavier, and it was making my arms tired. My next move should probably be to remove the battery for the illumination before it decides to leak for not being used.Back when it was mounted.
COLLECTING THE AMERICAN SNIPER RIFLE 1900 TO 1945 by Joe Poyer Edited by Craig Riesch NEW RELEASE- FIRST EDITION. 2012. With this book.
You'll become an expert at identifying the Model 1903 sniper rifle and its variations, as well as its commonly used telescopic sights such as the Unertl 7.8x, Warner& Swasey, Lyman 5A, or Weaver M73B1. Containing part-by-part descriptions, serial number ranges, and numerous photos, this book is truly a MUST for your snipercraft library! A quick search of the'net for anything related to sniper rifles—telescopic sights. Mounts, manuals, cases, etc.illustrates the collecting'frenzy' for sniper rifles, both old and new. Weaver telescopic sights used on the World War II-era Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifles sell for $900 to $1.500 dollars. However, most of those offered for sale are fakes or are.
Misrepresented commercial sights. The'chat rooms' are full of misinformation because there is very little reference material available. Collecting the American Sniper Rifle 1900 to 1945 provides accurate information that will allow the collector to determine whether or not a particular rifle or telescopic part—or other accessory—is correct.
It covers the sniper variations of the Model 1903 Springfield: U.S. Model 1903.30 Caliber Rifle with the Warner& Swasey Telescopic Sight. Model 1903.30 Caliber Rifle with the Winchester A5 or Lyman 5A Telescopic Sight. Model 1903A1(Sniper) U.S.M.C. Rifle with the 7.8x Unertl Telescopic Sight.
Model 1903A4.30 Caliber(Snipers) Rifle with the Weaver M73B1 Telescopic Sight. The book provides a detailed description of: the sniper rifle with all parts and markings that make it uniquely a U.S. Military sniper rifle. The telescopic sight with all parts and markings that make it uniquely a U.S. Military sniper scope. The bases and mounts with all parts and markings that make them part of the U.S. Military sniper scope assembly.
The books also contains a history of the development of each particular sniper rifle and telescopi. This auction is for a terrific UNERTL 12 power scope. It has a 1' tube and is 24' long. The optics are good with the classical fine crosshairs.
The condition is above average having a few scatches and minor freckling on the underside of the tube. The end caps are in good shape and work well. The aluminum adjustment mechanics seem to be perfect. Thanks for looking and bidding on this item. Please check my other listings as I may have something of interest to you. I also will ship promptly and properly. This auction is for an original rare& hard to find Unertl Programmer 36X rifle scope.
The Programmer was the most advanced target scope that Unertl ever produced and 36X was the most powerful scope that they ever offered. It measures just under 27 inches long. It has a 2 inch objective with a 1 inch tube. It has what appears to be the original mounts and spring setup.
Adjustments on mount operate smoothly. As does all scope adjustment. Crosshairs are intact and there is a nice clear sight picture. There is a small dent on the eyepiece, and some slight wear marks as shown in pictures, but overall it is in very nice condition. High bidder to pay $20.00 for USPS priority mail shipping anywhere in the USA(sorry, but NO international shipping) Feel free to email with any questions prior to close of auction.
Thanks for looking, and be sure. To check out my other auctions for more great collectables! Up for auction is a vintage J Unertl 24x target scope. This is one of the worst tragedies I have seen. This great scope has been exposed to the heat of a house fire.
It has destroyed the glass optics inside. Scope mounts, and spring seem to be in good shape. I am not sure if anyone restores these out there or not. I figure the mounts and spring are worth something if you just choose to use as parts. Shipping is $19.99 I will be listing 5 more of these in similar conditions in the next few weeks. High bidder of this one will get first choice of remaining scopes. Hi Folks, Up for auction today.
I have a nice vintage J. Unertl Falson rifle scope. These are rare and this one has a single horizional crosshair and post.
It is in used condition with some slightly handling marks and wear in the blueing around the ocular end of the scope and scope cap. It is a fixed 2.75 power scope and 1' main tube. The optics appear to be clear. It would make a woundfuls scope on a vinatge Winchester or Marlin. I perfer PayPay or PMO. All sales are final.
I do not ship internationally. I will not end the auction early so please do not ask. Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding. VINTAGE J UNERTL FIXED 14 POWER RIFLE SCOPE. Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for bid is a used Unertl 10X target scope FOR PARTS. The scope has a 1-1/2” diameter front objective and has a ¾” tube. There are no mounts with the scope. The cross hair reticule is broke as can be seen in the photos.
There is speckling on the scope. Maybe moisture? It only seems to be just on the bluing and not deep or pitted but YOU be the judge on that. The lenses appear to be clear with no chips or cracks. There are factory lens covers for both the front and rear. Payment to be Pay-Pal only.
This a real nice high quality 1930's era vintage Wollensak rifle scope and sold by either Marlin or Sears. Wollensak removed their name when they provided scopes to either Marlin or Sears and it has just the focus adjuster with'4X Ranger' It has real nice& bright clear optics and standard crosshair reticle. Tube has a lot of scratches. Chips and finish wear to the enamel finish but there are no dents or any other kind of serious damage.
The Micrometer adjustments work perfectly and they still have audible'Clicks' It is in great shape for 80 years old and is'Very Usable' as is. Or it would be a pretty easy'Restoration Project' with a little time and a can of enamel spray paint. It would look great on an old Marlin Model 39 lever rifle or maybe a real nice bolt action Marlin or Winchester target rifle. It mounts on standard Early Unertl, Fecker or Lyman scopes pin hole blocks. It weights 15.9 oz. And has a 3/4 inch tube. It is 15& 1/4 inches long.
These scopes were discontinued when WWII broke out. I will ship using USPS Priority Mail for a flat $10 to the lower 48. Sorry NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. Unertl Bench Rest Rifle Scope 15 x 1.5 Objective Length 24' Shows wear marks from normal use and a dent on the eyepiece.
